Breast Cancer Network Australia - 'Who is BCNA?'
Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is the peak national organisation for Australians personally affected by breast cancer. Its role is to empower, inform, represent, and link together people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. BCNA connects more than 250 breast cancer member groups and over 40,000 individuals across the country.
BCNA is represented by the Pink Lady silhouette. The Pink Lady depicts the organisation's focus - women diagnosed with breast cancer. Our mission is to:
- empower women to have a voice in their own health care and to play an active role in improving breast cancer treatment, care, and services
- inform women using a wide range of well-researched resources, directly or by referral to other appropriate agencies
- represent Australians affected by breast cancer in the health care system, scientific community, media and wider public
- be driven by women who have themselves experienced breast cancer, and link together individuals and groups sharing similar issues and experiences
